Linear

Your Linear issues, part of your plan.

Bring Linear issues into the same Inbox as your email and client requests. Review what belongs on your plan, keep the issue linked, and send Kernel status changes back when you enable tracking.

Highlights

  • One review queue

Preview and import eligible issues, or paste one Linear issue URL into Add to Inbox. Each suggestion waits for you to accept it.

  • Status tracking you choose

Map Kernel statuses to each team's workflow, or choose No change. Assignment, priority and dates are separate from status tracking.

  • Start from either tool

Find an issue by title, identifier or URL. You can also create and link one from a Kernel task after reviewing its team, project and text.

Intake

Choose the work before it joins your plan.

Narrow intake by team, project and assignee. Routing gives each issue a Kernel destination, and preview shows which issues are new, already in your Inbox, or already linked.

  • Triage issues are included only when you choose
  • Import selected issues without duplicating existing reviews
  • An issue completed in Linear suggests completion for your review

Link and create

Keep a path back to the original issue.

The task panel can find an existing issue or create a new one with the team and project suggested by your routing. Review the title and description before creating it.

  • Assign to me is an explicit action
  • Optional Kernel task backlinks are off by default
  • Coding-agent handoffs include Linear's suggested branch name

Good to know

  • Each connection is one person in one Linear workspace; you can connect several.
  • Status tracking sends future Kernel status changes only when enabled.
  • Upstream completion never completes a Kernel task automatically.
  • Assignee, priority and due date are not continuously synchronized.
  • Linear estimates do not set Kernel Duration.
  • Moving an issue between teams keeps its Kernel link.
  • Agent API keys can read a task's linked issue, link an existing issue, and create and link one; connection setup stays in Settings.
