Mobile app
Your day and your timers, on your phone.
Kernel is a responsive web app that you can add to your home screen. On a phone it opens on a single-day planner, with Up next, timers, and quick capture a thumb away.
Highlights
Installs like an app
Add Kernel to your home screen and it opens in its own window, straight to the planner, with Planner, Tasks, and Time as shortcuts.
Built for one hand
Planner, Tasks, Meetings, and Time sit in a bottom bar, with Search, Billing, Portfolio, and Settings under More. Swipe the planner to change days.
The same work everywhere
Your phone shows the same tasks, timers, and time entries as your desktop. It is the same app, not a separate edition.
Timers
Stop a timer and say what happened.
Stopping asks for a work note: what changed, what was decided, and what remains. Stop saves the session as ordinary recorded time, which you can repair later from Time.
- Every start is a timebox that stops at the end of its block
- Running work sits at the top of Up next, under Ongoing
- Discard drops the session without creating a time entry
Meeting reminders
Meeting reminders, on the installed app.
Reminders appear in Kernel while it's open, five minutes before and at the start by default. Enable this device in Settings to get them as notifications too.
- Choose up to four reminder times, up to an hour ahead
- On iPhone and iPad, enable notifications from the installed app
- Send a test notification to check the device
Good to know
- Kernel is a web app; there is no App Store or Play Store version.
- Kernel needs a connection. Without one, it shows an offline page until you reconnect.
- Push notifications are used only for meeting reminders.
- On iPhone and iPad, device notifications need Kernel added to the home screen.
- Phones and tablets get the bottom bar; wider screens keep the side navigation.
