Meeting notes

Keep the action items that are yours.

When a recorded meeting is summarized, Kernel reads what Fireflies or Sembly captured and keeps the work that is yours: items under your name, things you agreed to do, and a follow-up meeting with a time.

See it in the explorer

Highlights

  • Only your action items

Items under your name, work someone asks of you, and things you commit to. Another person's “I'll do it” and brainstorming produce nothing.

  • Quotes you can check

Each suggestion quotes the transcript line behind it, with Open in Fireflies beside it, so you can verify it in seconds.

  • Follow-ups with a time

A follow-up meeting agreed at a date and time becomes an event suggestion. Without a time, scheduling it becomes a task.

Teammates' recordings

Meetings a teammate recorded come in too.

Fireflies only notifies the person who recorded. With Teammates' recordings on, Kernel looks in Fireflies after each calendar meeting you didn't decline, for up to three hours after it ends.

  • Only recordings that list you as a participant
  • Meetings that aren't on your calendar can be added by link
  • Turning it on never imports older meetings

Sembly

Sembly notes work the same way.

Kernel reads Sembly's meeting notes and tasks, and the transcript when your Transcription automation sends it. Suggestions from notes say Sembly-generated notes and are never shown as spoken quotes.

  • Connect with a Sembly MCP token, in the US or EU region
  • Notes can close work they record as already done
  • Title, participant, and domain rules work as for Fireflies

Good to know

  • Kernel never changes anything in Fireflies or Sembly.
  • Fireflies connects with your personal API key; Sembly with a personal MCP token.
  • A suggestion left without a quote from the retained transcript is dropped.
  • Audio and video are never fetched, and transcripts are stored encrypted.
  • Paste a Fireflies or Sembly link into Add to Inbox to bring in any other meeting.
  • A Fireflies meeting billed to a Kernel task sends its suggestions to that task's client and project.
