Tasks
One board for every client.
Every task lives on one board that flows from Blocked to Done, tagged with its client's key. Open one to see its time against its Duration, what it's waiting on, and the files and links behind it.
Highlights
A key for every client
Each organization, or a project with its own prefix, numbers its tasks from 1, so NWR-142 always means Northwind. A moved task keeps its old key as an alias.
Duration and what's left
Give a task a Duration and see time tracked against it and the time remaining. A Ready or Doing task with nothing left asks Done?
Dependencies that hold
Blocked by keeps a task out of the planner until every prerequisite is Done or Dropped, and its card says Waiting on 2 until then.
Merge
Two tasks for the same work become one.
Pick the task that survives and settle conflicting fields like due date or priority. Comments, files, tags, time, and Inbox sources move to it, and the merged key keeps working as a link.
- Start from Merge into… or select up to 10 cards
- Merge with AI can write the combined title and notes
- Undo is available for 24 hours
List and filters
Narrow it down, then group it.
Filter by organization, project, lifecycle, priority, or tag on the board or in the list. The list groups tasks by lifecycle, priority, or organization and project.
- Dropped work appears only in the list, when you ask for it
- Each board column keeps its own sort and time window
- Search all work finds a task by key, former key, title, or notes
Good to know
- In review holds finished work waiting on someone else, and is never scheduled.
- Dropped keeps a task you decided not to do, out of the board and the planner.
- Files attach up to 50 MB each, and links are stored without Kernel ever opening them.
- Comments hold progress notes, and the task's activity lists what changed and when.
- Habits create ordinary Ready tasks on a schedule, and standing tasks hold ongoing work.
