Meeting reminders
A nudge before meetings that matter.
Kernel reminds you five minutes before and at the start of meetings with someone else, right in the app. Choose your own times, and turn on device notifications to see them outside Kernel.
Highlights
On by default
Every eligible meeting reminds you five minutes before and at the start, inside Kernel, with nothing to set up.
Only meetings with people
Reminders cover timed events with another attendee or a conference link. Declined, all-day, cancelled, and just-you events stay quiet.
On your devices too
Turn on device notifications in each browser you use, including Kernel added to an iPhone or iPad Home Screen.
Which meetings
Reminders only for meetings with someone.
A timed event qualifies when it has another attendee or a conference link. Declined, all-day, cancelled, and self-only events are skipped, and so are Kernel's own planner blocks.
- Copies of one meeting on two calendars send one reminder
- Each occurrence of a recurring meeting gets its own
- A moved meeting is reminded at its new time
Timing
Pick up to four reminder times.
Keep the defaults, or choose any times from the start up to an hour before. You can also turn meeting reminders off entirely.
- In-app reminders need no browser permission
- Send a test notification to check a connected device
- Disable any connected device from the same page
Good to know
- Reminders come from connected Google Calendar accounts, for the calendars shown in your planner.
- In-app reminders stay for eight seconds and wait their turn behind Undo and other messages.
- When a device notification goes through, Kernel doesn't repeat it inside the app.
- A reminder whose time has already passed is not sent late.
- Your operating system's notification settings still decide how device notifications appear.
- Each person can connect up to ten devices and disable any of them later.
